Artists Bio

Riva Shchertzman, Composer/arranger/songwriter/pianist/music teacher/wife/mom/grandmom/ba'alas teshuvah....has performed before thousands of women and girls throughout Israel and in several countries. Produced: 4 CD's and 6 cassettes of original music which sold thousands of copies.


Received degree in music composition and second field in computer science from the University at Albany. Also studied piano in music conservatories on Long Island and Manhattan School. Currently finishing a degree in homeopathy. Regularly learns Torah on-line thru the Naaleh Program of Neve Yerusalem.

Loves to make women and girls inspired, happy and healed through music. Every performance is nothing less than a spiritual gathering. Has performed in several isolated Yishuvim, including the former Gush Katif in an effort to lift spirits.

The music and performances of Riva and current partner Devora Gila are always done in a tsnizis way which includes Divre Torah and/or pesukim in their songs. Both women dress and cover their hair according to Haredi standards. Riva is a resident of Betar Ilite and is known personally by Rebbetzin Heller.



Devora
Gila Berkowitz
is a wife, mother, vocal coach, singer-songwriter and performer for women and girls. Her CD, Hodu Lashem, is sold for women only, and has sold almost one thousand copies. She is a resident of Yishuv Bat Ayin.


She co-wrote the lyrics and performed the feature song of the "for women only" film, The Shoemaker, produced for the Saatmar Chassidim in the United States.


Devora Gila received a degree in Linguistics from Harvard College and a Masters in Spanish from Middlebury College. She taught Spanish in the United States before doing teshuvah and moving to Israel, where she learned at Midreshet B'erot Bat Ayin, Nishmat, and Midreshet Lindenbaum.
